2011 ANNUAL MEETING RECAP
Our Annual Meeting, held on November 16th at George's, was a huge success!  We had approximately 29 people attend.  Jonathan gave a wonderful President's "State of the Union" address.  Kim explained the Profit and Loss statement.  The Bylaws were adopted and the slate of Board members was approved.  Abdul Hakim-Shabazz ended the evening with an insightful and engaging conversation about the local and national political atmosphere.  It was loads of fun and the Board is so happy with the outcome.  Next year will be even better!

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

2011 showcases the resurrection of the Annual Meeting.  At the meeting the President's and Treasurer's report will be given; Board elections will be held; and a social event will occur with a guest speaker.  Refreshments will be provided.  All dues paying residents (Members) are invited to come and partake in the elections, food, and comradery.

ANNUAL PICNIC

We have a neighborhood picnic on the 2nd Saturday of September each year at the Cross and Crown Church located at 79th and Allisonville to encourage residents to come together and interact.  Normal attendance is approximately 200 people.  We have a catered lunch by Black Diamond, a local business: lots of fun activities for the kids like Silly Safari, face painting by Sugar Buzz, and games from Party Time Rental; and door prizes sponsored by our local businesses.  It's a blast!  Come see us and have some barbeque!  PS-We can always use volunteers to help make this even successful.  Please contact Sarah Terrill at sarah.terrill@gmail.com if interested.

ANNUAL GARAGE SALE

Every Second Staurday in August has traditionally been the date for the neighborhood-wide garage sale.  Participation by any residents offering a plethora of merchandise bring a large number of garage sale shoppers from far and wide.  During the weeks before, ads are placed in local newspaper, submissions are made to applicable websites, and signs are placed at each entrance to the neighborhood.  Maps are distributed to visitors to navigate Ivy Hills and participating homes put balloons on their mailboxes making it visibly easy for potential customers to visit.  It's a great day to find some deals and see your neighbors.
